Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using BlurtMe ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users of BlurtMe, including users of the free tier and BlurtMe+ subscribers. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. The Service
BlurtMe is a personal thought-capture application for iOS. It allows you to quickly record thoughts, tasks, notes, and moments in a private, encrypted environment.
We offer two tiers:
- Free — up to 20 messages, all core features enabled during the trial period
- BlurtMe+ — unlimited messages, encrypted cloud sync, multi-device access, via monthly, yearly, or lifetime in-app purchase
3. Your Account
No account is required to use the free tier. BlurtMe+ requires an account for sync purposes only.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your BlurtMe+ credentials. You must notify us at contact@blurtme.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Because all data is encrypted end-to-end, we cannot recover your data if you lose your device without a backup. Store your backup recovery key safely.
4. Your Content
You own everything you create in BlurtMe. We claim no rights over your messages, notes, tasks, or moments.
Because your content is encrypted before it leaves your device, we cannot access, moderate, or review it in any way. You are solely responsible for the content you store in the App.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use BlurtMe to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
- Circumvent the App's security or payment mechanisms
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
- Resell or sublicense access to BlurtMe
6. Subscriptions and Billing
BlurtMe+ subscription
BlurtMe+ is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system and are subject to Apple's Terms of Sale.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
Lifetime purchase
A lifetime purchase grants access to all BlurtMe+ features for the lifetime of the App on any compatible iOS device signed into your Apple ID. This does not include future features not yet released at the time of purchase, though we intend to honor it broadly.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Active subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.
7. Disclaimers
BlurtMe is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that the App will meet your specific requirements.
We are not responsible for any loss of data resulting from device loss, accidental deletion, or failure to maintain a backup. It is your responsibility to enable cloud sync (BlurtMe+) if you want your data backed up.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlurtMe and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for BlurtMe+ in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Intellectual Property
The BlurtMe name, logo, app design, and all related intellectual property are owned by the developer. You may not use them without explicit written permission.
You retain full ownership of all content you create within the App.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to BlurtMe+ accounts in cases of abuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms. We will attempt to provide advance notice where possible.
You may stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling the App deletes all local data permanently.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If that fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration.
